secretory proteins

secretory proteins
In eukaryotes, proteins synthesized on rough endoplasmic reticulum and destined for export. Nearly all proteins secreted from cells are glycosylated (in the Golgi apparatus, although there are exceptions (albumin). In prokaryotes, secreted proteins may be synthesized on ribosomes associated with the plasma membrane or exported post-translation.
